Bridge Traveler Analyzer

Norm Price

A personal Mentor for every game you play

Norman Price, a longtime club member and 20-year ACBL player, has spent the past several months building something many of us have wished for after a tough session: a personal mentor that sits down with you and reviews every board and the entire game’s overall results with the goal of improving your game.

The Bridge Traveler Analyzer is a desktop app for Windows and Mac that takes the results page your club already emails after a game — a saved ACBL club or tournament traveler — and turns it into a board-by-board report built entirely around your own results. For each board, it shows a native hand diagram, your result compared against the field's best score, and a plain-language explanation of where the difference came from — the bidding, the play, or the defense. The report closes with a checklist of the patterns that came up most often that session, so you know exactly what to work on before your next game.

“Lessons teach general principles to a room,” Norman says. “What’s missing for most of us is a MENTOR — someone who sits down with your own results every time you ever play in an event in the future and shows you, specifically, what to fix each time. That’s what the App was  built to be.”

Norman presented an early version of the app to a local club last month, and the reception was enthusiastic — a strong turnout and a lot of good questions, most of which turned out to already be built into the app.

A few details players have asked about:

  • One-time purchase of $29 — no subscription.

  • Runs on both Windows and Mac.

  • Uses your own Anthropic (Claude) API key to run the analysis — typically well under $1 per session — so there's no ongoing cost from the app itself.

  • Every report exports as a polished Word document you can keep, print, or share with your partner.
