Lisa talks Food and Bridge...

Lisa Assoni

I’ve talked about food consumption in the past, and recently discovered an old article written by Bob Levey, a retired columnist for the Washington Post, and a Gold Life Master. He noted, “What you eat can affect your play”.  It’s posted in a bridge bulletin. an issue that I could relate too .I’m such a foodie, and was encouraged by his wisdom. Eating is a big deal! Every major event in our lives usually has a food focus. Marriages, funerals, birthdays, business meetings and parties. We just can't live without it.

We really chowed down celebrating our Pro-Am game. So many folks generously shared homemade tortes, lox, bagels, fresh fruits, and desserts. It was noticed that many skipped the sweets, and went for fruits, cheese, and other healthy choices. This Brain game has lots of benefits. It was a full house, and Mark Humphrey is the Man. You all know his name by now. He’s a humble guy! He managed to “Put on the Ritz’, paired up Life Masters to play with a Non-Life Masters. It was a real fit. Non-lifers had a grand opportunity to learn from the best. It was such a happy gathering. This event was held in honor of Ken White. He passed away nearly a decade ago, but his memory and dedication to this game carries on. His joyful spirit was shared with all that participated in game.

Thanks Mark and Lynne!
