The Rossmoor Duplicate Bridge Club (RDBC) is offering a class on defense.  Defense is an integral part of the game since players defend half of the hands they play.

This eight week class will be held Wednesdays from July 15 through September 2, from 10 a.m. to noon in the Oak Room at Gateway.  The instructor will be Michael Gosnell, club manager.

Subjects covered will include opening leads versus no trump and suit contracts, second and third hand play and defensive signals among other topics.  This is an intermediate to advanced class and not appropriate for beginners.  The text will be "Defense in the 21st Century," part of the ACBL Bridge Series. 

The cost for this class is $50 for club members, $60 for resident nonmembers, and $100 for nonresidents of Rossmoor.  Checks should be payable to the RDBC and brought to the first class.
